Dogmatic- Gourmet Sausage System

Needing a subway break, we decide to come up at Union Square before transferring to our next train. We kind of wanted sweetness but found this place instead. What an interesting concept, you pick a sausage type (chicken, beef, turkey, pork, lamb, or asparagus) and a sauce and they stuff it in a baguette. They don't cut the baguette open like a hot dog bun though, they hollow it out and put the sausage and sauce inside. Pretty cool, I must say.

I chose turkey sausage and horseradish mustard and the boyfriend chose lamb sausage with mint yogurt sauce. On top of having gourmet sausages they also have handmade sodas. I chose coconut, he chose ginger. The sodas were awesome, not too sweet and very refreshing. The lamb with mint yogurt sauce pretty much tasted like a gyro. It was very good, just familiar I guess. My turkey sausage with mustard was satisfying as well. The mustard was very spicy, which I liked, and the sausage wasn't dry like some turkey products can be. The other thing I liked about the sausages were that they weren't too big, so it was a perfect snack. This place also has a variety of sides like mac n' cheese or tomato salad, so if you wanted to make a meal out of it you could.
I wouldn't necessarily say you have to seek this place out, but if you are in the mood for gourmet street food and happen to be near Union Square I don't think this place will dissapoint you.
Happy Dining!
