I was first introduced to Dolcetto back home at The Delachaise and I rarely see it on wine lists so when I saw it on the list here I decided to check it out. It was a 2006, Cursalet Dolcetto di Dogliani. I wish I knew how to properly describe wines, but unfortunately all I can say was "it was good."
They had a pretty extensive tapas menu, and pretty affordable too. Since we were meeting friends for dinner we decided on a 3 cheese plate. I chose the Robiola, Gorgonzola Dolce Latte, and the Nettle Meadow Kunik. All incredible cheeses, the only drawback was they were all creamy. The Robiola was just as I expected, very mild and creamy, paired with some figs. The Nettle Meadow Kunik was a little bolder than the Robiola, but still had a mild flavor. It came with black cherries and cherry juice drizzled on top. My favorite was the Gorgonzola Dolce Latte, I have never had a blue like this before, it almost seemed whipped and was topped with citrus marmalade. Very decadent choices so unfortunately we couldn't finish all of them. In retrospect I might've chosen a hard cheese to throw in the mix.

This was the perfect afternoon stop. If you like wine and cheese, it is pretty close to paradise. Not to mention the neighborhood is pretty sweet too!
Happy Dining!
