Cuvee

Wow, I am still recovering from the 20 cent martini deal! I have been eyeing this restaurant for years now, but hadn't heard either way if it was worth the time and money. My friend and I decided to have a summer lunch date there since they were serving a prix fixe special of 3 courses for $25. Not to mention, their 20 cent martini special, and no, it wasn't cheap gin!
They allow you to choose 3 menu items for the prix fixe menu, it can be all appetizers, or an appetizer, entree, dessert, or 2 entrees and dessert. Basically you can mix and match and they are all served in tasting portions. I went with the housemade bacon prelude, red snapper with corn maque choux for my main dish, and the "coffee & doughnut" as my dessert.
The bacon appetizer was incredible, it was served on top heirloom tomatoes and watermelon. The salty bacon was balanced out by the clean, fresh flavor of the watermelon and tomatoes. It was topped off with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette. The fish was pan-seared and next to a wonderful andouille corn maque choux, and to
round out my meal I had a choice of creme brulee, carrot cake, or "coffee & doughtnut." I had to see what the latter was all about and like the rest of my meal, it did not disappoint. The "doughnut" was a dense chocolate cake with chocolate icing and the "coffee" was a white coffee ice cream, incredible!
Overall, a very good meal. I will definitely be going back to check out their dinner menu, I'll let y'all know how it compares.
Happy Dining!
